I see the child inside my enemy.

When I am confronted by conflict, hostility, or anger, I understand that my enemy is not really my enemy.

Though it may be tempting to fight fire with fire, I choose to live with grace, compassion, and love in all that I do. I offer positivity to all those I meet.

I understand that there is an inner child residing inside every one of us. This child has their own fears, concerns, and worries, as well as the ability to laugh, love, grow, and play.

I see this child inside my enemy, even when they cannot recognize this for themselves.

I choose respect, forgiveness, and compassion.

I see that responding to anger, coldness, and hostility with the same emotions will only hold me back from achieving my full potential, keeping us both trapped in an endless loop of negativity.

I choose to break the chain of negativity and focus on making the world a better, more loving place.

I recognize my own power within this. I am responsible for my own words, actions, and reactions. I choose love.

I respond to my enemy as I would an innocent child - with respect and love. I see the power in these reactions, and the duty that I have to do them.

All is well. All is forgiven.

Today, I understand that even my enemies are human beings. I acknowledge the child within each of us, and offer them love, grace, and respect.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. How do I react when I encounter conflict?
  2. Do I approach each scenario with grace and love?
  3. How can I overcome conflict with respect and grace?
